Season 2026–27: who's open, who's next
China's season is starting now — snowmaking in Chongli began 12 October and the Altay areas turn first every year. Dates below are official where stated, otherwise estimates from recent seasons (marked as such); resorts announce exact openings only days ahead, on WeChat, in Chinese. We update this page through the season.

⚠ Book around Chinese New Year
CNY falls on 6 February 2027; expect the holiday week around 5–12 February (official window pending the State Council notice, due Nov/Dec) and heavy travel through the Lantern Festival on 20 February. Prices and crowds spike at every resort in China that week — the snow calendar shows the quieter alternatives.
