Ski resorts near Beijing, 2026–27

Here is every one, with hours and run counts from Beijing's official tourism site and the resorts' own announcements.

Yanqing: ski the 2022 Olympic course

National Alpine Ski Centre 国家高山滑雪中心 is the only venue in China that has hosted Olympic alpine events, and since 2024 the public can ski it, including Ruixue, the Olympic downhill course. Last season it had 24 runs totalling 25.4 km, a cable car up to the 2,198 m start, and the 14.5 km Haituo Traverse, billed as China's longest single run.

It opened on 22 November in both 2024 and 2025, skiing 9:00–17:00; the 2026–27 date isn't announced yet. Last season's opening-day announcement told locals to set an alarm for tickets, so expect them to go fast. In 2024 buses ran direct from Guomao subway station and Liujiayao.

Yanqing also has two smaller hills, Vanke Shijinglong and Badaling, listed in the table below.

The city hills

Small, man-made and mostly beginner to intermediate, but floodlit and close. Nanshan and Jundushan, the two we cover in depth, are 45 minutes to an hour from central Beijing by taxi or Didi. Hours below are last season's; 2026–27 dates, hours and prices are TBC until each hill announces them.

Buying tickets as a foreigner

The city hills sell time blocks (2, 4 or 6 hours, with the night session as its own ticket) through WeChat mini-programs and Meituan. Those usually expect a Chinese ID; the ticket window sells to passport holders, so bring yours and pay with Alipay or WeChat Pay.

Carrying gear and short on time? Klook sells a private round-trip car from your Beijing hotel (affiliate link) to Chongli or the Beijing hills. It costs far more than the train, but it's door to door.

Yes. Trains run from Beijing North and Qinghe to Taizicheng, the ski station, in about an hour, and Genting and Thaiwoo are 10–15 minutes from the station. It works for a day, but Chongli deserves 2–4 nights: hotels are cheap enough that staying beats commuting.
